Are you a national of a country outside the European Union and staying in Belgium for less than 3 months? You must declare your presence and your address of stay in Belgium.
- You are a national of a country outside the European Union
- You are staying within the territory of the City of Brussels
- You are staying in a private residence
- You are staying for less than 3 months
You do not need to declare your address if you are staying:
- In a hotel or lodging house (guesthouse, Airbnb, holiday rental,...)
- In a hospital
- In prison
If you hold a type C visa or are not subject to visa requirements:

Declare your presence within 3 working days of your arrival via the External siteMy Address in Belgium application.
At the counter
Send an e-mail to foreigners@brucity.be with the following information:
- Last name, first name and date of birth
- Dates of stay in the territory
- Name of your host and address of stay in the City of Brussels
- Copy of all pages of your passport
Your request will be forwarded to the Immigration Office, which will decide on the issuance of a 'Declaration of arrival'. If approved, it will be issued to you during an appointment at the counter.
You are an 'intra-Schengen' national (holder of an EU residence permit or a visa D issued by another Member State):
At the counter
Send an e-mail to etrangers@brucity.be with the following information:
- Name, first name and date of birth
- Dates of stay on the territory
- Name of your host and your address of stay in the City of Brussels
- Copy of all pages of your passport
- Valid residence permit issued by another Member State or a valid visa D issued by another Member State
