Authorisation to occupy a fairground site

A fair is any event created or authorised in advance by the City, grouping together, in specific places and at specific times, operators of fairground attractions or fairground food establishments, who sell services and products to the consumer on that site.

A fairground activity is any sale, offer for sale or display with a view to the sale of services to the consumer in connection with the operation of fairground attractions or fairground food establishments.

This mainly applies to the fairs in Brussels, Laeken, Neder-Over-Heembeek, as well as neighbourhood fairs and similar events.

Fairground operators can apply for a five-year contract for a site or apply on a case-by-case basis for vacant spaces.

Sites are allocated by subscription via a renewable five-year contract. If you wish to apply for a subscription, calls for candidates are regularly published by the City of Brussels on Street trade of the City of Brussels.
