Are you a job seeker and would you like to settle in the territory of the City of Brussels? The citizen of the European Union or of assimilated countries who wishes to stay in Belgium for more than 3 months must register in the foreigners' register of their municipality before obtaining a residence card.
- Be a citizen of the European Union or of an assimilated country (Switzerland, Norway, Iceland, Liechtenstein).
- Establish your main residence on the territory of the City of Brussels.
- Stay for more than 3 months.

1. Make an appointment
Book your appointment online.
2. Register
Bring all the required documents to your appointment in order to obtain your registration certificate (Annex 19).
The police will carry out a residence check to verify that you actually live at the declared address.
If the check is positive, you will be registered in the foreigners' register.
3. Wait for the decision of the Immigration Office
4. Apply for your EU residence card
After the decision of the Immigration Office, you will be invited to book a new appointment to apply for your EU residence card.
- Passport or national identity card.
- One recent (maximum 6 months) External siteICAO-compliant passport photo.
- Proof of registration with an employment agency (Forem, Actiris or VDAB) or copies of job application letters.
- Registration request: 25 euros
- Card request: 30 euros
The Immigration Office has a decision period of up to 6 months after your application has been submitted and after the positive verification of your address.
