Would you like to sell fruit and vegetables, second-hand items or handicrafts at a market? Then book a space at one of the outdoor markets organised by the City of Brussels.
Local markets: to work on a market in the City of Brussels, postal codes: 1000, 1020, 1120 and 1130.
Self-employed: be registered with the Banque-Carrefour des Entreprises (BCE) and have a company number.
Additional conditions depending on the specific products sold:
- Crafts (Agora market): be recognised as an External siteartisan by the SPF Economy.
- Cosmetics: the products sold must be registered with the CPNP portal (more information from the External siteFPS Public Health).
Foodtruck and itinerant trade
To sell in a public space other than an organised market, you should apply for an authorisation for a street trading stand (foodtruck, ice cream stand, chip stand, kiosk,...).
Fairground
If you want to sell at a funfair, apply for an authorisation to occupy a fairground site (attractions, fried food, drinks,...).
Christmas market
To sell at the Winter Wonders event, respond to the call for tenders organised by External siteBrussels Major Events.
Submit your request either:
- Online, using the External siteform
- By e-mail to marches.marken@brucity.be with the completed form and a copy of the required documents.
Good to know!
You will first receive an authorisation to set up as an 'itinerant trader'. You will automatically be put on the waiting list for a subscription with a dedicated space. Once a space becomes available you will be contacted by post, in order of priority, based on the date your authorisation was obtained.

For the Agora craft market:
External siteCertificate of artisan issued by the SPF Economy.
Itinerant space: 5 euros per metre + 3 euros electricity per market day.
Dedicated space (subscription): 3 euros per metre + 3 euros electricity per market day to be paid monthly.
Payment for itinerant spaces is made by Bancontact on the day of the market.
Two to 3 weeks to obtain an authorisation for an itinerant space.
