A cool colleague! Do you know Vanessa?

The City has a policy of diversity, non-discrimination and equal opportunities and is primarily looking for talent. Read the testimony of one of the City's workers here.

Vanessa: My name is Vanessa and I am a file manager in Human Resources at the Early Childhood Service.

I joined the City in 2006 as a nursery manager until it turned out that I had a neurological disease, along with a genetic one. I was unable to work for a year and a half and had to undergo rehabilitation. As a result, I was called up by Medex, who wanted me to retire early. Fortunately, the City offered me a more suitable job, still at the Early Childhood Service, but in the offices.

First, I would like to thank the City for accommodating my job.

In the beginning, I didn't know if I would make it. It was unknown territory, I didn't know how my body would react. So I saw it as a new challenge. Professionally, I can say that things are going very well.

I have a message to pass on, several in fact! "First, I want to thank the City for accommodating my job. You have to experience it to realise it, but the illness, moving around in a wheelchair... it's really exhausting between the fatigue and the pain."
