Disruption and closure of services from 12 to 15 May

Due to maintenance works, the External siteMyBXL citizen portal will be unavailable on Tuesday 12 May 2026 from 8 pm to 9:30 pm.

Renewal of EU+, F+, K or L residence cards

Do you need to renew your EU+, F+, K or L card? Book an appointment now!

EU+, F+, K and L cards are permanent residence cards.

They are issued after 5 years of legal and uninterrupted residence in Belgium, once permanent residence status has been granted.

These cards are valid for 10 years. You will receive an invitation to renew your card before it expires. 

  • Have your main residence on the territory of the City of Brussels.
  • Have legally resided in Belgium for 5 uninterrupted years.
  • Have already obtained approval for permanent residence for: 
    • an EU+ card
    • an F+ card
    • a K or L card

To order the card

  • Book your appointment online 
  • Attend the counter at the time of your appointment to apply for your card

To collect the card 

  • Your PIN code is sent to your home address by the Federal Public Service Home Affairs.
  • As soon as you receive it, you can collect your card without an appointment.
  • The card must be collected at the place of application.

Have you still not received your PIN code after 2 weeks? Order it here!

  • National identity card or passport
  • Belgian residence card that is about to expire (or a certificate of loss/theft)
  • When collecting the card: new PIN code

Standard procedure: 30 euros (over 12 years old), 12 euros (under 12 years old)

Urgent procedure: 150 euros

Standard procedure: 1 to 2 weeks

Urgent procedure: the next working day if the request is submitted before 3 pm
