Resident parking card

Do you have a car and want to park it in your neighbourhood without using a blue disc or paying a parking meter? If so, you can apply for a 'resident' parking card. 

The electronic resident parking card allows you to park your vehicle:

  • In the area in which your home is located
  • In all zones, except orange and red zones

The card is valid for 1 or 2 years. 

You can obtain up to 2 cards per household. The card is linked to the number plate.

To obtain a resident parking card, you must meet the following conditions:

  1. Residence: your main or secondary residence must be in the City of Brussels
  2. Driver: you must be the main driver of the vehicle
  3. Registration: the vehicle must be registered in Belgium (unless exempt from registration with the DIV - FPS Mobility and Transport)
  4. Type of vehicle: its weight must not exceed 3.5 tonnes (for example car, van, motorbike,...)

There are several ways to apply for your resident parking card:

  • Fill in the online form  with your personal details
  • Upload a copy of the required documents
  • Submit your application

Once your application is approved and payment has been received, your parking card will be sent to you by e-mail or post.

At the counter

At the counter of the Brucity Administrative Centre or the liaison offices of Laeken and Neder-Over-Heembeek: External siteby appointment only - book online

  1. Proof of identity (+ power of attorney and copy of both sides of the proof of ID of the person concerned if the application is being made by a third party)
  2. Vehicle registration certificate in your name (issued by the DIV - FPS Mobility and Transport)

Additional documents depending on the situation:

  • Second home: proof of payment of municipal tax on second homes.
  • Leased vehicle: proof showing your name and the vehicle's number plate.
  • Company vehicle: certificate from the company stating that you are the sole user.
  • Third-party vehicle: copy of the insurance policy stating that you are the main driver.
  • External siteShared vehicle: certificate issued by Bruxelles Mobilité.
  • Exempt from registration in the population registers: certificate from the Protocol Department of the FPS Foreign Affairs stating your address and household composition.

The rates per household are:

  • 1st resident parking card: 15 euros for 1 year, 30 euros for 2 years
  • 2nd resident parking card: 130 euros for 1 year, 260 euros for 2 years
  • Second home resident parking card: 530 euros for 1 year, 1060 euros for 2 years

  • Application form: 5 working days
  • Application via counter: immediately
