Climate Plan - Events, sports, culture, tourism

Nearly 3,000 events are organised in the city every year, and millions of tourists come to visit Brussels. This cultural and economic wealth is not without consequences for the climate.

With the Climate Plan, the City wants to help the sector adopt an eco-responsible approach.

Find out about all the assistance and support available for organising eco-responsible events:

Main objectives for events

Targets for 2030:

  • Double the number of tourist accommodations with the 'green key' label
  • 100% of the events organised by the City comply with the sustainability action plan of Brussels Major Events
  • 100% of the cultural venues of the City have implemented a climate action plan

For the municipality:

  • Adopting the Brussels Major Events action plan for eco-responsible events for all events in public spaces

For all the people of Brussels:

  • Developing soft mobility plans in consultation with the neighbourhoods for all major events
  • Installing water fountains in all sports facilities
  • Systematically offering a vegetarian or vegan option to the public and teams working on an event
