Authorisation to set up a stand in public space

Do you want to attract the attention of passers-by by placing a sign or stand outside your business?

You will need to apply for an authorisation to use public space. This is subject to strict rules to ensure the safety of pedestrians and prevent obstructions.

  • The business must be located within the territory of the City of Brussels
  • The stand (A-frame) must be mobile, simply placed on the ground, and easy to move
  • The application must be submitted by a person who is authorised to represent the business (manager, owner, or authorised person)

If you already have a terrace or display authorisation, you can place a stand on your terrace without needing a specific authorisation.

You have several options to submit your application:

Online via MyBXL

This online procedure allows you to track the progress of your application at any time, reducing the need for trips to the administration.

  • Log in using your identity card and PIN or via Itsme
  • Select 'Company' as your profile

Once reviewed, the administration will contact you with further instructions
