Three commemorative plaques for Holocaust resistance
On Friday 27 January 2023, in the context of Holocaust Remembrance Day, the City of Brussels inaugurated 3 memorial plaques at the Bois de la Cambre. These plaques honour 3 young resistance fighters during the Holocaust: Youra Livschitz, Jean Franklemon and Robert Maistriau.
Is your driving licence still valid?
Drivers applying for or renewing a driving licence will (since 2010) receive an (electronic) European driving licence in bank card format. However, this model is only valid for 10 years. To renew it, you must contact the City services at least 3 months before the expiry date.
Video guides at the City Hall
From 27 April 2024, the City Hall of Brussels will be offering a new type of tour: interactive video guides accessible to all, with a route for adults and families.
Campaign against sexual harassment in bars
The 'Safe Ta Night' network launched an awareness campaign against sexual harassment and violence in bars and party places in Brussels. This campaign, aimed at professionals in the catering industry, is available in French with subtitles in English.
Redevelopment works at the Brucity area
The project consists of the redesign of the area around the new Brucity building (Hallenstraat, Zwarte Lievevrouwstraat, Visverkopersstraat, Augustijnenstraat, and parts of Kiekenmarkt, Lakensestraat, Sint-Katelijneplein, and Bisschopsstraat) with the aim of better connecting the different neighbourhoods and creating a homogeneous whole.
Winners of the 2022 Climate call for projects
In March 2022, the City of Brussels launched its Climate call for projects. 27 winners were selected to carry out projects related to current climate issues.
