Laeken winner of the 'Hidden Treasures' campaign

Nearly 10 million lamps and light fixtures were collected by the Belgians in 2018. To reward that, Recupel launched a campaign in which every Belgian could identify his or her 'hidden treasures': beautiful but undervalued places that deserve to be put in the spotlight. 'Memory of Expo 58' in Laeken was one of the winners.

Campaign 'Radicalization: and you, how do you feel about it?'

Bravvo (Prevention Service of the City of Brussels) launched an awareness campaign on violent radicalization: Radicalization: and you, how do you feel about it? Within this campaign, a Facebook group becomes the space for discussion and educational information about radicalization.

New bus 56 between Neder-Over-Heembeek and Schuman

New bus 56 between Neder-Over-Heembeek and Schuman

In March 2020, a new bus line (line 56) will be inaugurated between Neder-Over-Heembeek and Schuman (via Schaerbeek). The southern terminus of line 56 will be at Schuman (Rue Archimède, also the terminus of other lines).

From 1 March 2020, plastic bags for fruit and vegetables will be banned throughout the Brussels Capital Region, even for bags that are biobased and compostable at home.

Mid-March 2020, a first District Council will be created in the City of Brussels. The Neder-Over-Heembeek - Mutsaard District Council will count 11 citizens and 6 representatives from the local volunteer sector.
