New website with messages after attacks of 22 March 2016
After the attacks of 22 March 2016, the Archives of the City of Brussels collected the messages that were deposited at the Bourse and at the Maalbeek metro station. The service has also taken photographs of the messages that were written at the Bourse with chalk on the walls or on the ground. All these messages are now online on the new website of the Archives.
GIAL publishes audit online
Within the dynamics of good governance and transparency started by the City of Brussels, the GIAL Board of Directors decided to put the audit that was presented on 23 January 2018 online. This document is therefore freely accessible and can be downloaded on this website.
Ban on big trucks in the city centre
The City of Brussels bans transit traffic of more than 7.5 tons from the Pentagon (city centre).
Accessibility award for Nuit Blanche
The cultural event Nuit Blanche won an award for accessibility during the 12th edition of the Prix CAP48 de l'Entreprise Citoyenne. CAP48 rewards companies that set a good example on the inclusion of people with disabilities. The Brufête association received the prize.
2019 Tour de France in Brussels
Brussels will host the start of the Tour de France in 2019. For the second time, the capital will receive the start of the Tour, to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the first Tour victory of Eddy Merckx in 1969. The first stage on Saturday 6 July 2019 goes from Brussels via Charleroi back to Brussels.
Web radio at the Brussels Park
The small kiosk of the Brussels Park (Parc de Bruxelles - Warandepark) now has its own radio station. Kiosk Radio will broadcast music from Belgian DJs, labels and artists' collectives and occasionally also international artists. There is a broadcast each day between 2 pm and 6 pm, online via kioskradio.com and Facebook Live.
