Plastic bags forbidden in all shops
From 1 March 2020, plastic bags for fruit and vegetables will be banned throughout the Brussels Capital Region, even for bags that are biobased and compostable at home.
Laeken winner of the 'Hidden Treasures' campaign
Nearly 10 million lamps and light fixtures were collected by the Belgians in 2018. To reward that, Recupel launched a campaign in which every Belgian could identify his or her 'hidden treasures': beautiful but undervalued places that deserve to be put in the spotlight. 'Memory of Expo 58' in Laeken was one of the winners.
