Since 1 September 2017, plastic disposable bags are forbidden on the markets of the City of Brussels (Zero plastic campaign). This measure, which is part of a regional regulation, was previously applicable to the largest markets in the City, at the Chaussée d'Anvers and Bockstael.
Since 1 September 2017, a new market is installed at the Rue de Wand in Laeken, each Friday from 2 pm to 7 pm. On Friday 8 September, besides the offer of regular sellers, there is also a 'Herbes de Bruxelles' stand with a wide range of herbs, medicinal plants and edible flowers.
From 1 September 2017, the automated system with retractable posts will be activated at the Rue du Midi and Rue des Grands Carmes to arrange access to the pedestrian zone.
The 2016 results of the Property Management Agency of the City of Brussels comply with the budgetary objectives: 2 completed yards for 43 homes, 9 operational yards for 154 homes.
