Freddy Thielemans' funeral livestream
The funeral of Freddy Thielemans (1944-2022), former Mayor of the City of Brussels, will be broadcast live. The ceremony will be held on Saturday 5 February 2022 from 11 am.

The number 1722 is temporarily activated in case of a bad weather warning. You may call the number 1722 in case of a storm or flood if you need the fire brigade but there is no mortal danger. An online form is available as well.
Immersion education at French-language primary schools
The City of Brussels continues to invest in multilingual education. At the start of the 2022-2023 school year, the primary schools Les Magnolias in Laeken and Baron Steens in the Marolles will offer immersion education in Dutch. The Athénée Adolphe Max will welcome a first secondary class with double immersion (Dutch and English).
Low Emission Zone: new ban since 2022
The Low Emission Zone (LEZ) is applied in Brussels since 1 January 2018. This measure prohibits certain vehicles to drive in Brussels. Since 1 January 2022, the diesel vehicles under the Euro 4 standards are also being banned.
A computer for every pupil and student
The City of Brussels continues to distribute computers, so that every pupil and student can follow lessons remotely. Every pupil of a school in the City of Brussels can get a computer on request.
